Summer Term Music Production Course
Learn to make your own music track!
Following the success of our first introduction to music production course, we are delighted to announce a 10 week music production course for the Summer Term.
The music production course will run online using a combination of zoom and Soundtrap, a cloud based music production software.
Participating pupils will receive their own login to Soundtrap so that they can continue creating and composing their own digital music at home.
The 10 week course will take place on Tuesday evenings between 5 & 8.30pm. Pupils will be grouped according to age and experience and each lesson will last 55 minutes.
What will you learn?
The online course will introduce you to the software and concepts behind music production.
You will learn
- how to use loops to create your own composition
- how to create drum beats and hooks
- how to record your own voice or instrument and add effects
- how to mix your track and much more!
At the end of the course you will have created your very own track!
Who can sign up?:
If you are interested in creating your own digital music then this course is for you!
The course is open to children and young people in Year 5 to Year 11 (aged 10-16) and is suitable for both beginners and young people with previous experience of using music production software. Pupils will be grouped according to age and ability and previous experience of music production techniques.
What equipment do I need?
Soundtrap works on any computer or mobile device connected to the internet.
To participate fully in the online lessons you will need to be able to run zoom and soundtrap simultaneously – we therefore recommend pupils use a laptop or PC so they can run both applications together.
Alternatively you can use two separate devices (e.g. phone & tablet) with one connected to zoom and the other using soundtrap.
Tuesdays: 27 April, 4, 11, 18, 25 May, 8, 15, 22, 29 June, 6 July
What does it cost?
The cost of the 10 week course is £65.
The costs includes a login to Soundtrap for the duration of the course so that pupils can continue creating and composing their own digital music at home.
Financial Support: Assistance with fees may be available on application to those on restricted incomes living in Wandsworth, subject to conditions. The criteria is similar to those in receipt of Free School Meals.
