Programme updates during COVID-19 period 2020-21
Updated 10 June 2020
The vital role of music and the arts in supporting mental health, social engagement, and learning is well recognised globally and backed by high quality scientific data.
As Lockdown is easing and pupils return to school, the role of music is more important now than ever to support children’s education and wellbeing.
At the forefront of our provision for 2020-21, is a strong onus on delivering our programmes safely and consistently. In line with updated government guidance and ongoing research and guidance from the UK Association for Music Education ‘Music Mark’, Wandsworth Music – like many other providers across the country, will deliver a blend of face-to-face and online teaching in September to support children and young people’s continued musical development.
Whilst we all remain hopeful that some form of normality will return by September, we are planning carefully for all eventualities. We will work with you to ensure that next term’s programmes will be delivered safely for all children and staff.
